PHOTOS: “Resist Trumpism everywhere” message projected onto Palace of Westminster

July 13, 2018

Last night, the message “Resist Trumpism everywhere” was projected onto the Palace of Westminster by campaign group SumOfUs to coincide with the arrival of President Trump.

The slogan was also projected onto London’s iconic Marble Arch and Cable Street in the East End, site of the historic battle between the British Union of Fascists and anti-fascist activists in 1936.

Sondhya Gupta, senior campaigner at SumOfUs, said: “As he begins his visit to the UK, SumOfUs members want to express their solidarity with people in the United States who suffer at the hands of President Trump. But our message is also for people around the world, wherever they are: the US president’s policies are part of a growing, international tide of hatred, bigotry and corporate greed that must stop. Over 4,000 SumOfUs members have generously donated to help people from outside London come to the capital to join together against Trumpism and show that people in the UK reject his brand of damaging politics.”
